Marriage by Common License

Getting married by common license is equivalent in timing to the civil method of getting married by certificate and license and it has the advantage of not requiring banns to be published.

Marriage by Archbishop's Special License

Marriage by special license is very unusual and it must be approved by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
