Ginkgo biloba
Ginkgo Biloba, an incredibly rich source of
bioflavonoids, is primarily used to help maintain blood vessels thereby
improving blood flow to the brain and extremities.
Consequently, it is very good
at increasing oxygen levels to the brain and thus enhancing memory and cognitive
function.
Because of these properties, Ginkgo Biloba has been found to be of great use in
treating and countering various forms of senility, including Alzheimer's and
other forms of Dementia.
Researchers reported that they found significant improvement in verbal recall among a group
of people with age-associated memory impairment who took the herbal supplement
for 6 months when compared with a group that received a placebo.
Ginkgo's
ability to improve blood flow may also be useful for circulatory ailments,
chiefly heart attacks and strokes as well as erectile difficulties, tinnitus and Raynaud's disease.
The leaves are an easy recognizable feature of the
deciduous Ginkgo biloba. They are 5- 8 cm wide and are sometimes twice as broad
although they vary in size and shape. The leathery leaves have a wax layer on
both sides
