Turmeric has been used traditionally by the Asian people to make curry for many years. But until 30 years ago the rest of the world only regarded it as a spice.

In the 1970's, researchers found it contained anti inflammatory compounds called curcuminoids, the most important of these being Ccurcumin.

Curcumin is full of antioxidants which can help protect the body from a wide range of age related ilnnes and degenerative diseases.

Antioxidants are powerful preservatives, which helps explain why turmeric has long been sprinkled on food to help retain its freshness.

As a natural anti inflammatory, turmeric is also useful for joint problems like swelling and stiffness.

Curcumin is even considered a standard anti-inflammatory medication in India.
